How to Join the JIBITI Community

Welcome to JIBITI—the private community program of the Youth Initiative Foundation (YIF). JIBITI is a safe, intentional space where young people from marginalised and underserved backgrounds connect, co-create, and lead social and environmental change.

JIBITI is not a "beneficiary space." It is a platform for active contributors, cross-cultural collaborators, and community stewards. Because we prioritise the safety and privacy of our members, we use a structured application process.

Step 1: Expression of Interest (EOI)

Membership begins with an email. Interested individuals must send an Expression of Interest to membership@jibiti.youthinitiativef.org

In your email, please provide clear responses to the following:

  1. Name or preferred alias
  2. Link to at least one social media profile or personal website (any platform you are comfortable sharing)
  3. Sex and gender identity
  4. What marginalized community do you identify with?
  5. What are some key issues affecting the marginalized community you identified above?
  6. How did you hear about Youth Initiative Foundation or the JIBITI community?
  7. Why are you interested in joining the JIBITI community?
  8. What does being part of a co-creating community mean to you, and how do you see yourself engaging responsibly within such a space?

Step 2 & 3: The Application Form

If your EOI is eligible, you will receive a secure application form via email. You must complete this form and submit it by replying to the original email thread.

Step 4 & 5: Review & Identity Verification

The JIBITI Community Coordinator will review your eligibility and conduct reference checks. If recommended for progress, you will be invited to a mandatory verification meeting (held in-person or virtually).

This step is essential to maintaining the integrity of our safe space.

Step 6 & 7: Pre-Approval & Payment

Following Executive Leadership review, pre-approved applicants will receive an invoice for the One-Time Registration Fee

Please note that payment is required before final approval can be granted.
