JIBITI Membership Tiers and Benefits

JIBITI operates a structured membership model designed to balance accessibility with long-term sustainability. Our community is divided into three distinct tiers: Member, Affiliate, and Ally.


Membership is based on shared responsibility. Whether you are seeking peer support or looking to financially sustain our systems, there is a place for you.

1. Member Tier

The Member Tier is designed for individuals from marginalized communities who seek connection, skill-sharing, and peer support.


  • Eligibility: Must be a citizen of an African Union (AU) member state.
    • Resident Citizen: Residing within any AU member state.
    • Diaspora Citizen: Residing outside the African continent.


    • Key Benefits:
      • Digital Membership Card and Certificate.
      • Access to secure communication platforms and community workspaces.
      • Access to general social events, meetups, and skill-sharing webinars.
      • Listing in the JIBITI Skills Marketplace for priority hiring.
      • Eligibility for event scholarships and stipends.

    2. Affiliate Tier

    The Affiliate Tier is for members who meet the same eligibility requirements as the "Member Tier" but choose to financially support and sustain the community's growth through annual dues.


    • Eligibility: Citizen of an AU member state (Resident or Diaspora) who commits to annual dues.

    • Key Benefits (In addition to all Member benefits):
      • Priority Access: Priority for emergency welfare support and specialised training.
      • Leadership & Representation: Eligibility to represent YIF at external events, conferences, and media engagements.
      • Institutional Support: Access to Fiscal Hosting, where YIF serves as a legal umbrella for your project grants.
      • Advanced Growth: Exclusive access to advanced capacity-building workshops and leadership in community working groups.
      • Recognition: Access to exclusive “Impact Reports” and recognition badges within the community.

    3. Ally Tier

    The Ally Tier is for individuals who do not hold African Union citizenship but are committed to strengthening the community’s systems financially.


    • Eligibility: Non-citizens of AU member states.


    • Key Benefits:
      • Mentorship: Opportunities to serve as a Mentor to youth leaders within the community.
      • Strategic Impact: Facilitation of international partnerships and inclusion in the JIBITI professional reference network.
      • Visibility: Optional recognition in Annual Reports and on the website as a community sustainer.
      • Resources: Access to community newsletters, digital membership identification, and member-only discounts on merchandise.
