Managing and Updating Your Account Information
Keeping your account information accurate is essential for receiving community benefits and emergency support. However, to protect our members in a high-risk context, we distinguish between Access Security (which you control) and Core Identity Data (which requires verification).
1. Updating Your Password (Self-Service)
You can update your password at any time to ensure your account remains secure.
- Step 1: Visit the Member Login Page.
- Step 2: Log in using your Member ID (or registered email address) and current password.
- Step 3: Once logged in, you will be automatically directed to your Profile Page.
- Step 4: Click the "Edit Profile" button.
- Step 5: Enter your new password, confirm it, and click "Save Changes."
To prevent unauthorized changes and ensure that our "Member in Good Standing" records are accurate, all other profile fields, including your Legal Name, Preferred Alias, Email Address, Location, and Tier Status, cannot be edited directly by the user.
- Submit a Request: Send an email from your registered JIBITI email address to records@jibiti.youthinitiativef.org.
- Subject Line: Use the format: Profile Update Request - [Your Member ID].
- Details: Clearly state which information needs to be changed and provide the updated details.
- Verification: For sensitive changes (such as a legal name change or email swap), a member of the Records & Membership Team may contact you for a brief verification to ensure the request is legitimate.
By centralizing these updates through records@jibiti.youthinitiativef.org, we:
- Protect Your Identity: Prevent malicious actors from changing your location or contact info if your device is compromised.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain accurate records for Member ID issuance and "Member in Good Standing" certificates.
- Maintain Security: Keep a verified audit trail of all changes to sensitive community data.
- Password Complexity: Ensure your new password uses a mix of uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Email Access: Always ensure you have access to the email address on file, as this is our primary way to verify your identity.
- Regular Reviews: We recommend reviewing your profile details once a year to ensure your location and contact details remain current for emergency support purposes.
