Membership Process Manual (What to Expect)

The journey to becoming a JIBITI member is intentional and structured. This manual helps applicants understand the timelines, the internal reviews, and the requirements for final onboarding.

1. The Review Timeline

Because we prioritize community safety, we do not offer instant account activation.

  • EOI Review: Usually takes 5–10 business days.
  • Identity Verification: Once your form is submitted, a verification meeting will be scheduled within 14 business days if recommended.
  • Leadership Approval: Final pre-approval typically occurs within 7 business days after your verification meeting.

    2. Understanding the Quarterly Orientation

As per the 2026 ToR, Orientation is mandatory and held only four times a year:

    • January | April | July | October
Note: If you complete your payment in February, your orientation will be in April. This ensures that new members are onboarded in "cohorts," fostering stronger connections and ensuring everyone receives the same safety training at the same time.

    3. The Verification Meeting

This is a standard security protocol. During this brief virtual or in-person session, the Community Coordinator will:

    • Confirm the details provided in your application.
    • Discuss your interests and how you plan to contribute (Co-creation).
    • Answer any questions you have about the Code of Conduct.

      4. Payment & ID Issuance

After pre-approval, you will receive an official invoice.

      • Payment: Must be made via the secure links provided in your invoice.
      • ID Issuance: Your Digital Member ID Card and Certificate are issued only after the successful completion of the Orientation. Your ID is your key to accessing JIBITI physical events and professional references.

      5. The "Member in Good Standing" Status

Once onboarded, your status is reviewed annually. Maintaining this status depends on:

      • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and Community Policies.

        Why we use this process

This manual exists to protect the Movement Archive and the privacy of every marginalized youth in our network. By ensuring every member is vetted and oriented, we create a high-trust environment where real social and environmental change can happen.
