Terms of Service (ToS)

By applying for membership and accessing the JIBITI platform, you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms ensure that our community remains a structured, legal, and safe environment for all participants.

1. Institutional Status

JIBITI is a community program of the Youth Initiative Foundation (YIF).

  • Membership in the JIBITI Community is programmatic.
  • It does not constitute statutory membership, directorship, or employment within YIF.
  • Members do not have the authority to enter into legal contracts or financial obligations on behalf of YIF unless explicitly authorized in writing by Executive Leadership.

2. Eligibility and Verification

  • Truthfulness: All information provided during the EOI and Application process must be accurate. Misrepresentation of identity or affiliation is grounds for immediate termination.
  • Verification: Membership is contingent upon the successful completion of our identity verification process and mandatory orientation.
  • Tiers: Members must adhere to the specific requirements of their selected tier (Member, Affiliate, or Ally).

3. Financial Terms & Dues

  • Registration Fees: All fees are one-time and non-refundable. They are 100% allocated to administrative costs, including ID issuance and security maintenance.
  • Annual Dues (Affiliate/Ally): Membership status is maintained through active payment.
  • The 90-Day Rule: If annual dues remain unpaid after 90 days, Affiliate accounts are automatically transitioned to the "Member Tier." This does not affect community access or dignity; status is restored immediately upon payment.

4. Accountability and Termination

YIF operates a restorative accountability model, but reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership at its sole discretion for:

  • Breaches of the Code of Conduct or Safeguarding Policy.
  • Compromising the digital security or physical safety of the community.
  • Unauthorized use of the JIBITI/YIF name, logo, or intellectual property.
  • Engaging in fraud or harassment.

5. Limitation of Liability

While YIF provides the infrastructure for JIBITI, the foundation is not responsible for the personal conduct of members outside of official JIBITI programs. Members are responsible for their own digital security practices and interpersonal interactions.

6. Modifications to the Terms

The JIBITI Terms of Reference and these Terms of Service are reviewed annually (or as needed) to reflect evolving security needs and community development. Members will be notified of any significant changes via their registered email address.

Agreement

Your continued use of the JIBITI platform and your "Member in Good Standing" status signify your ongoing agreement to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may initiate the exit process by contacting membership@jibiti.youthinitiativef.org.
