Common Issues and Solutions

While the JIBITI platform is designed for ease of use, technical glitches can occasionally occur. This guide provides immediate steps to resolve the most common issues. If these steps do not work, please escalate your concern to the Tech Desk.

1. Login & Access Problems
  • Forgotten Password: Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. An automated reset link will be sent to your registered email. If you don't see it, check your "Spam" or "Promotions" folder.


  • Incorrect Credentials: Remember that your username is often your Member ID or your registered email address. Ensure your caps lock is off and there are no accidental spaces at the end of your entry.

  • Account Locked: For security reasons, multiple failed login attempts will trigger a temporary lockout (typically 30 minutes). This prevents "brute force" attacks on your account. Please wait and try again, or contact support if you believe this was an error.

2. Profile & Identification Issues
  • Update Restrictions: As a security measure, members can only update their passwords directly. If you need to change your name, location, or contact details, you must email records@jibiti.youthinitiativef.org for manual verification.
  • Profile Picture Uploads: Ensure your image is in JPG or PNG format and under 2MB. If the upload fails, try resizing the image or switching to a desktop browser.
  • Member ID Not Showing: Your digital ID is only issued after your mandatory orientation. If you have completed orientation and still cannot see your ID, please alert the Records team.

3. Platform Performance & Errors
  • Slow Loading Times: This is often due to a "heavy" browser cache. Clear your browser history and cookies, or try the platform on the Brave or Chrome browser for optimized performance.
  • Persistent Error Messages: If you see a "404" or "System Error," please take a screenshot and note the URL/Page you were on. This helps our tech team fix the bug faster.
  • Maintenance Windows: JIBITI undergoes regular security patches. During these times, some features may be "View Only." Check the Announcements section in your Google Group for scheduled maintenance alerts.

4. Audio, Video & Notifications
  • Video Playback (Resource Library): If the training videos aren't loading, check your internet stability. Our videos are hosted securely; ensuring you are logged into your JIBITI account is often required for access.
  • Notification Silences: If you aren't receiving community updates, check your Notification Settings in the dashboard. Also, ensure that emails from @youthinitiativef.org and @jibiti.youthinitiativef.org are "Whitelisted" in your email provider.
  • Audio in Webinars: If you cannot hear a live session, ensure your browser has permission to use your speakers. We recommend using headphones for better privacy and sound quality.
